Release Date: February 28, 2022

Back in 2017, two graduate students and a professor at the University of Waterloo (UW) joined forces and started a new company, calling it Acerta Analytics Solutions Inc. Today, more than thirty-five Acertans celebrate the company’s fifth anniversary and the vision that Greta Cutulenco, Sebastian Fischmeister, and Jean-Christophe Petkovich turned into reality.

Acerta’s story began with initial machine learning algorithms that its co-founders developed in UW’s engineering labs. Their collaboration resulted in LinePulse – a suite of SaaS solutions that improves part quality and optimizes production during precision manufacturing of parts for automotive and off-highway vehicles.

While headquarters remain in tech-friendly Kitchener-Waterloo, Canada, the Acerta team has expanded across the country with some people in the USA and even France. The company forecasts a headcount of over fifty by the end of 2022 and expects sales to more than double this year as the list of customers who choose Acerta’s solutions continues to grow.

“I’m thrilled to celebrate our fifth anniversary because it’s an important milestone in our company’s history. I’m grateful for all team members who helped us get this far and to those who will take us into the future. I’d also like to thank our investors who recognized our early value and provided the funding that enabled us to accelerate our expansion efforts, develop winning solutions, establish a strong leadership team, and build a solid operational engine. Huge thank you to OMERS Ventures, M12 (Microsoft’s Venture Fund), Standup Ventures, and Radical Ventures,” said Greta Cutulenco, CEO at Acerta.

Acerta operationalizes machine learning and artificial intelligence to unlock the hidden value contained within vehicle data. Earlier in February, Acerta released its next-generation LinePulse product that provides actionable insights for precision manufacturers.

“With LinePulse and our Acerta Professional Services, we provide actionable insights to some very big names in the automotive and transportation industries. The first five years were just the tip of the iceberg for us,” said Cutulenco. “We’d love to tell you about our plans for the future so please reach out to learn more.”
